How do i get eyeshadow to stay on?

i guess i have oily eyelids because it comes off in a matter of ten minutes, no exaggeration. How do i get eyeshadow to stay on?
Prime the eyelid area with a little dusting of Johnson's Baby Powder.

Put on your powder eye shadow - cream versions tend to travel.

Dust again with Baby Powder on a brush which you've tapped the excess B.powder off. (This ';sets'; the colour and eyeshadow.)How do i get eyeshadow to stay on?
this has some great makeup tips that will help you out
First you spit in it.
When I wear makeup I put foundation or powder on my eyelids. It keeps your eyelids from being so oily and the eyeshadow stays on.
im makeup queen lol i dont go no were with out it on but i dont go over the top.

DONT use fondation!!

if you do u wont just get sticky eye shadow yur get spots BIG spots.

make sure yur face is clean and instaed of just using eye shadow use eye shimmer first eye shimmer is creamy and shinny so place that on the lid of your eye and then use a brush to gently dab on the other coloure it works every tym make sure u get the same coloure shimmer asa you do shadow or u will look a bit weird lol:) hope it works 4 yaxx
I would either use liquid eyeshadow or i would get really good products such as thick eyeshadow and not cheap crap like at walmart i would go to a beauty store and ask which is best.
apply the shadow with a brush, and apply after washing your face shadow stays better when your skin is clean
if it comes off or ends in a crease in your eyes, then yes you may have oily eyelids. (before you get annoyed by it, know this: oily eyes show wrinkles a lot less)

anyway, to keep it on do NOT add foundation or any lotion product to it. It will just make the area more slippery and increase the slippage of the makeup.

What you can use, (I use this and love it) is an eyeshadow base. Clinique makes one called TouchBase for eyes. It is made in different colors and somepeople use them as eyeshadows all by themselves. They go on as a cream so that seems like a contradiction to my above advice, but it is powdery finish. If you apply it all over your lid, your eyeshadow is more likely to stay put.

I recommend that you visit a counter and ask for a consultation before you purchase and share this concern. They should have a few solutions for you to try.
umm use a base before you put your eyeshadoww on.
Always apply a base powder (foundation or translucent) before putting on eye Shadow. It also helps if you get a good brand. I use cover girl or max factor. It stays on until i wash it off. Thats at least 16 hrs.
Try putting a little foundation on your lids first, then the eyeshadow.
you should get cream eyeshadow it drys on and can be water/sweat proof
Put blush on first then, put eyeshadow, then foundation, and lastly put eyeshadow on until you find ';your shade';
try using like bobbi brown cosmetics cuz te really work !!!!
well this is what i do and i have really long days at work and sometimes over time big time and it stays on when you are putting foundation and all that stuff on DONT put any on your eyelids... just put the eyeshadow on straight like that... it should work it works for me...
I used to have the same problem... perhaps you can try first putting vasiline on your eyelids, then the powder. It will stay longer... but it may feel a little sticky.
