you can do the smokey look with any color eyeshadow you want! it works better with darker shades. a lot of people are saying that navy blue smokey eyes are in right now, and they're not as dramatic and harsh as using black. i usually smoke brown eyeshadow because black is a little too dark for me. just remember to smudge everything out, the most eyeshadow should be on your eye lids, then fading out the farther you get away from your eye.
U need black eyeliner and black or grey eyeshadow. The eyeliner can be cream or stick type. Apply the eyeshadow all over ur lid and up into ur crease. since it's smokey, it doesn't have to be perfect. Also apply it in a thin line under ur eye. Then line ur eyes with the eyeliner but also don't make it perfect. Put on some mascara and leave the rest of ur face bare because ur eyes r the focus of ur face now. Put on a light pink or nude lip gloss and ur done.
Dark browns or black. MAC makes a great smoky black. They make them with different colors of glitter in them too.
