Which eyeshadow do you put on first? The lighter one or the darker one?

When I usaully get my eyeshadow it comes with 2 colors a light color and then the darker color. For example I just got an eyeshadow with a light pink and then a reg. pink. Which do I put on first? What do you usaully do?Which eyeshadow do you put on first? The lighter one or the darker one?
I just had this done!!! Dark goes on first to the crease of your lid. Blend upwards and well. Then put light from crease to brow. Continue to blend.

-OR-

Dark first from the middle of eye to the end of brow then blend the lighter from corner of eye through the dark color.Which eyeshadow do you put on first? The lighter one or the darker one?
Use the lighter one first to sweep over entire eye area the use darker tone just on the eyelid.
you put the light one on first in the corner of your eye and then the dark slowly fading to the opposite side.

Good luck
lighter all over your lids and below your eyebrows... then the dark on your lids or your eye lid crease

i do it everyday and love it!
You are supposed to put the lightest shade on your entire lid and then blend the other darker one up toward the crease.
I usually put the lighter on first and the darker in the crease of my eye lid afterwards.
u're supposed to put the lighter one on first but i can vary depending om the colour
I put the lighter one on first and then I put the dark one on.
I always wear the light on the whole eyelid, and then use the dark near the eyelashes, that way,you get a nice, put not to overpowering look.
Its said that you should put on the lighter one, on you entire eyelid. And then the darker one in the crease of your eye. I have tried the darker first and I didn't really like it. So try both and see what you like best. But I would put the lighter one on and then the darker one in the crease.
Wait your supposed to use TWO?!!!! haha... um.. i think i'd use the darker one then use the lighter one to blend in the edges...
I usually do the darker in the crease and along lash line first. Then fill in with the lighter. That way you get a nice blend of the shades where they overlap without having a harsh line. Hope that helps!
Put on the regular pink first and then the lighter shade will highlight it to look good .
I usually put darker color closest to lashes and then the lighter is places above that to my eyebrow line to give my eyes a shimmery effect..
Hey

Well i work at the body shop and i am mainly in the Make up area so i deal with alot of these questions and i also do alot of make overs for people of all ages.

Please please please put on the lighter one first the dark then the light will not work as the light will not show it gives a better effect if you put the light then the dark.

Or just use one but it gives a great effect with the dark if you put it at the corner of your eyes it makes your eyes stand out more.

Hope i helped.
Put the lighter pink all over the eye lid and then the darker pink in the crease and the corner of the eye lid. If you want something bold try mixing in a darker color (dark grey) in the crease and the dark pink below. If you want more pigment then dampen the make-up applicator with a bit of water and it will be a bit more pastey and it will create a darker shade of whatever color you use.

AMAZING
I put the light one on first, from lid to brow then, the darker one, which I apply right underneath the brow bone then, I use a small blush brush and gently brush over my whole eyelid to blend it together a bit
What I do is put on the light one on first, over all of lid, than the darker one is for accent only. You can put in the eye crease, from the inner of eye to the outer of eye lid.You can also use the darker one on just half the lid (lower)after you put on the lighter one, all over the lid.Just play with it until you get the desired look.Try more than two colors for a dramatic look.Have fun.
darker color on the eyelid, and the lighter color above, it is suppose to make your eyes look bigger, I always get compliments on mine!!
Lighter one goes on first, all over the eyelid, and can be taken up to the brow area as a highlighter. Darker one take into the socket, out to the edge of the eye, and along the lash line, key then is to use a cotton bud or another brush and blend, blend, blend, you can then build up the colour to what you want.

First, I place a creme based primer (Mary Kay) then I put the lighter shadow on as a base, the darker color I apply as a creaser, lastly I blend the two colors very gently with the lighter shadow. You gotta make sure you're using authentic brushes. MAC has some nice pricey ones but are worth it. If you can get a brush set while Nordstrom or Macy's is having their yearly and half yearly sales it makes all the difference in the world!
It depends on the look, but I recently got a good tip from a make-up artist. It is to apply the darker shade around the corners and just in the crease...after that fill in with the lighter colour. Also, she showed me how to outline with a narrow line just around the eye both on the top and bottom. That makes one's eyes stand out more. You also might want to think about adding just a smidgen of glittery gold on the top lid and to use a lash curler. Hope it helps. Enjoy your eye make-up!
Always put the lighter one all over and the darker one just on your eye socket.
Put on the lighter one first as the base and then add the darker tone to the edge of your eye lid and blend it well to make a beautiful impact to your eye. (e.g. darker to light tone at the edge of your eye) To make it more outstanding just draw along your eye lid with a black charcoal eye liner.
I usually put the lighter one on my whole eyelid and the darker one one just a bit thicker than an eyeliner!!

Just because it is the same as 'painting'; you put the lighter one on first....the darker one will cover over and hide the light color. Doing the reverse is not going to happen.
Put one on
Light the dark, and then sometimes light again if I have overdone the dark.
I'd say darker first. It's a 50/50 guess.
I usually put the darker colour on first such as under the eye and along the sides then the light one on under brow and lids for definationaa nd shine
