Whats the point of layering two different colors of eyeshadow?

To get an inbetween color. Some shadows are too light by themselves and others are too dark. If you mix you can achieve just about any color. Also, different shades go in different places (i.e. all around color, crease color etc.)Whats the point of layering two different colors of eyeshadow?
The one layer provides a ';backdrop, '; while the other creates a forground. The appearances is a deeper, 3-D effect, especially w/selective contrast/complement.Whats the point of layering two different colors of eyeshadow?
to get contrasting colors. like black and white. most people layer shimmery colors together just to get a more dramatic effect. but just make sure you put the lighter color towards the inner corner of your eye. it makes you look more awake
It just gives you some dimension to your eye. For instance you would take the lighter color all over for a base %26amp; the darker color in your crease.
More depth, more interesting to look at. Exotic to mix orange and pink. It usually looks better, but it's alright just to use one color.
depends if they go together. if they dont then toss 'em
It can sometimes be an awesome effect!
to make your eyes have enough attention!
it looks better. if you use hot pink and brown then that's not good layering but if you use light brown and dark brown then it gives you different shades on your eyes. if you want brown eyshadow on your eyelid but a tinge of light pink then that's when you layer too. it also looks smoother and more natural if you do that. also if you don't have the eyeshadow color that you want to put on that specific day then layering two different colors is the perfect thing to do. hope that helps!
You really want to use the two different colors as contouring and highlighting. You would use it to enhance the lash line, and the lovely shape and color of your eyes. This link should give you a bit of an idea.
Its to make the eyes look bigger and bring them out more.Usually lighter shade just above the lashes and the darker at the crease or lighter to the center lid near lashes and darker on the outside and inside then on the crease.Hope this helps.

It looks more sophisticated. And it enhances the best parts of your eyes.
