Can i use lotion as eyeshadow base?

I dont have a real eyeshadow base and i dont feel like reapplying eyeshadow every 3 hours, so will lotion help? like if i put lotion on my lids before eyeshadow would it hold it in more or not? has anyone tried it?Can i use lotion as eyeshadow base?
The main reason eyeshadows tend to fade or crease is because of the oil/sebum that your skin produces.

Lotion would only increase said moisture and increase the creasing.

If you have dry skin your eyeshadow probably just fades throughout the day and doesn't crease, but honeslty lotion wouldn't help all that much unless it were a lotion that really left you feeling greasy and sticky when you apply it because it would more then likely just absorb into your skin and that would be that.

If you have oily/combo skin you should apply a powder to your eyelids before your eyeshadow, such as a powder foundation, setting powder, or eyeshadow similiar to your skin tone. And pile it on too, a few layers.

This powder will not only help absorb the oil but allow you to blend a lot easier too.

Its not a miracle worker, but its better than nothing.
